Minions Paradise

The Goal

Evaluate player onboarding an in-game communication for Minions Paradise, a mobile game tied to a major entertainment franchise. The goal was to spot friction points and improve engagement and retention during early gameplay.

Evaluation Process

I progressed through the full early-to-mid game experience, documenting where there may be confusion, hesitation or drop-off risk. Each issue was logged with context, screenshots, and recommendations for improvement.

For example, some tutorial prompts assumed prior knowledge of how these types of games were played. I suggested simplifying the language and adding visual markers to make it clear how to progress. In some cases, milestones were unclear, so I offered improvements to the messaging and wording in terms of how payoffs were framed.

Impact and Application

This project improved my ability to spot friction in a relatively new digital medium and translate user confusion (particularly among younger audiences) into actionable language -- a skill I still use today in UX copy, onboarding flows and messaging.
