Every successful e-commerce store uses photos effectively. A shot of the front of the product or its contents are a must-have for making the sale. But often, what you don’t show is just as crucial to making the sale as what you do show. Even after seeing photos of the item, some customers will still have questions. They won’t bother to take the time to contact you though – they’ll just go elsewhere to find the answer. So how do you prevent those nagging questions from costing you the sale?
The answer lies in taking multiple product photos from several different angles. FutureNow has an excellent series of photo suggestions to help you get the most out of every product you sell.

There are also some excellent tips about choosing which items to compare your products to and help your customers gauge the size, weight and depth of the item. Don’t be afraid to go into the small details on your products. Many customers who are about to make a purchase will take the time to type in the exact model number into a search engine like Google or one of the shopping comparison sites like NexTag or Shopzilla.
If you use features that allow the customer to zoom in or rotate the photo via a 3D view, there’s a related article on FutureNow that details one customer’s shopping experience looking for a jacket – and how you can improve the odds that you’ll beat out your competitors, even if you have the higher price.
The moral of the story is this. Take the time to make your photos spectacular and your descriptions thorough and it could pay off immensely in terms of a higher search engine ranking for that product, as well as many happy customers who got the answers they needed when a picture really was worth a thousand words.
