If you run a business website and sell products or services online, you may not be getting the amount of orders you’d hoped to have by now. No matter what you sell, remember that your visitors can’t physically touch or examine it the way they can in a retail store – which is why you’ve got to have plenty of this:
Pre-Sales Information
You may think you already have enough – after all, you’ve probably got product specs, a handful of photos from different angles, and a basic description. That’s enough, right?
Not always… and here’s why.
Since people can’t inspect your product or service, they often rely on what pre-sales information you have to help them make the best possible buying decision. For instance, I was in the market for an entertainment center over the holidays, and online shopping prices (and free shipping!) were too good to ignore.
The Site I Ultimately Bought From Did One Thing Better than the Rest…
Several sites had the exact make and model I had my eye on, and prices were all over the map. Some included nice extras such as an extended warranty, faster shipping or accessories but ultimately, the site I bought from (buyentertainmentcenters.com if you’re curious), had one thing that made it stand out from its competitors.
On the left side of the page is not just a “Frequently Asked Questions” area, but a FAQ that let you type a question into it immediately – saving you from having to leave what you’re currently looking at and go find the FAQ, then try to remember the name of the product and click your way back.

An Example Pre-Sales FAQ Form
Not only would they email you the answer, but they’d post it on the website as well in case other customers had a similar question. For example:
• What size TV will this stand accommodate?
• What’s the difference between solid wood construction and wood veneer coating?
• How many CDs/DVDs will the media storage cabinet hold?
• Are the shelves adjustable?
For ecommerce websites, adding a FAQ (as well as common answers) on the product page itself is a great idea that keeps your customers from having to painstakingly search your site themselves.
Try it on your site – you may find your customers asking questions about your product that you’d never thought of! Every little bit helps to ultimately close the sale! If you’d like to add a built-in product FAQ to your site quickly and easily, contact iElectrify for a free quote today!

What happened? I’d be more than happy to address some of the issues you faced in future blog articles!
Very informative site, and very interesting posts. I have bookmarked your site, and will be back, good work guys.. thanks
I would say the exception to this is a comodity product, if the customer knows exactly what they are looking for already, the main aim should be to just make the online shopping experience as simple and as cheap as possible.
