[...] As a small business owner, you either love Groupon as many success stories will attest to, or using them has nearly nearly sunk your business, such as the cupcake bakery which lost $20,000+ and had to pony up over 100,000 cupcakes as a result of its 75% off deal. But is the rush to be a part of the daily deals craze overshadowing your business growth? Or are you using Groupon as you would other social and sharing tools – as a tool rather than a “must-have shiny object”?
[...] If you use a service to set up your feed you’re usually able to make settings like these for your feed. I use Google Feedburner to set up my feed and I’ve been doing so for quite some time now. It’s free and quite simple, but I can’t really tell if it’s the best solution. A list of other similar services can be found here. [...]

Hi Eric, the 4th part is the last one. I combined questions 2 and 3 since they often go hand in hand when it comes to content marketing strategy. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I love it!

Let me comment as a consumer. Occasionally I encounter service so astonishing that I just have to rave about it. Recent example: Jennifer R of the WPSubscribers plugin. I e-mailed her with a question about the plugin, expecting . . . well, little or nothing as a response.

Instead, she e-mailed and offered to dig into my WordPress site and fix the problem for me. Then, once she'd fixed it, she e-mailed to explain what had gone wrong and how she set things to rights.

I was blown away.

Your story illustrates that even less-heroic efforts can make a big, big difference.

My preparation for my Kilimanjaro climb taught me a lot about business. It was one of the first times I had ever really taken the "work smarter, not harder" concept and put it into play. In the year prior to the climb I did tons of research and planning, and then honestly minimal training. But when it came time for the climb – it was a piece of cake. Because I put my attention on the things that actually mattered and did the necessary prep work.

Since then I have found the same to be true for my business. When I spend the time up front planning something out so I know I'm spending my time in the right places it always goes much, much better.
