Triple Your Conversions and Build Your List with this Simple Video Marketing Technique!

June 22nd, 2008 | Posted in Audio & Video, Email Marketing, Web 2.0 | 2 Comments

Want to know how you can use video marketing to increase your conversions to your newsletter and build your subscriber list?  The answer lies in designing a video “squeeze page” – and here’s how to do it.

A “squeeze page” is a simple page on your website whose sole purpose is to collect the name and e-mail address of your visitors in exchange for something they would value – such as a free report, trial or other information.

Squeeze pages have been around for a few years, and more and more people are leery of entering their personal details on just any site – no matter how much they might want what’s being offered.

When you add video to your squeeze page, however, something amazing happens.

You help establish a face-to-face conversation with the viewer in a way that is comfortable and familiar to them.  This helps create the beginning of a bond with that person that gives them something extra that simple text and images can’t compete with.

But doing a video squeeze page the WRONG way can cause your conversions to plummet.  Follow these proven tips for making your video squeeze page work flawlessly to triple, or even quadruple the number of conversions you get to your list.

1. First, imagine your viewer.  Think about how they look, their age, gender and most importantly, the question or concern that they’re coming to you about.  What can you help them solve?  Why do they need to sign up to your list? What are you offering that can make a difference in their lives?

2. Now, write around a page to a page and a half of content for your squeeze page video.  This will serve as the “script” for your presentation.  Concentrate on creating an image of how your viewer might feel right now – without the product or service you offer.  What are they worried or concerned about?  What are their fears?  If you need help with this, consider hiring a professional copywriter to write it for you.

3. Finally, in your video content, present your offer and tell them how to subscribe for more information.  If they have to verify their email address when they fill out the opt-in form, let them know!  Otherwise all the hard work you did to gain that new subscriber will be lost!

You always want to look at your video squeeze page from the eyes of a potential customer and continually ask yourself, “Do I need this?  If so, why?”   Because those are the exact kinds of questions they’ll be asking as they watch your presentation.

If you need help creating a professional video presentation, recording a voice-over and marketing your video on YouTube, why not request a free quote now from iElectrify?  There’s no obligation and nothing to buy.

Is there a way to locate someone locally to try this?

You can look up local videographers in your telephone book or online at superpages.com. Ask around and make sure your videographer will optimize your video for the web as different formats can lead to drastically different file sizes and quality.
